Established in 1999
Branford, CT
Paul Allegra started in the restaurant business in 1978. His career started as a tech-ed teacher and wrestling coach. Paul had a friend that asked him to help him out, part time, in his restaurant in Willimantic, CT. (lucky’s)
Slowly but surely, loving the industry so much, Paul got out of teaching and focused his energies in the restaurant industry.
He partnered up with Bob Gaines , and together they built Pickles in Branford,CT.
From there they built Bobby G’s in Orange,CT.. Shortly after, Paul decided to buy out his partner. He then opened a second Bobby G’s in Old Saybrook, CT.
After 3 years of running 2 restaurants, he decided to sell the Old Saybrook location. At that time he revamped his Orange location and the “birth” of Allegra’s cafe began.
A popular local establishment, where people came to eat drink and gather.
In 1998, Paul Allegra decided to try something new and open in Branford, CT. Together with his wife Joann, they designed and built Lakeview Tavern & Grille.
In 2010, realizing that so many of his past customers could not “find” him, he changed the name of Lakeview Tavern & Grille back to Allegra’s Cafe.
Again,Allegra’s Cafe is a great place to gather, have great food and good fun. We also service all of your party needs.
We would like to thank all of our customers, old and new, for patronizing our establishment. Looking forward to creating many more memories.
